for those willing to share…a Christmas post.

i have to admit, i absolutely love Christmas. most of us know and understand that Jesus wasn’t born in December. we also know that Christmas isn’t about Santa delivering a sack of toys to our homes on Christmas Eve. but what is Christmas about? Christmas, to me, is about gifting, generosity, and community. it’s a time of celebrating the free gift that changed the world and gave us hope and a promise of a transformed life. the gift of Christ wasn’t what we asked for. we didn’t list it or covet it. we didn’t even know we had need of it. we just knew we were losing hope and our attempts at living as intended were failing miserably. the gift we needed came to the earth and is offered to all who were willing to accept.

in celebration of this free gift, in devotion to its power and importance, we can offer hope and the promise of a transformed life to those within our reach. we can continue Christ’s work in sharing our portion with those whose portion has been stolen, swindled, lost, or devoured. we can partner with amazing organizations like Union Rescue Mission* (Los Angeles, Ca) that embrace those experiencing homelessness with compassion and resource. URM serves the whole person, men, women and children, in mind, body, and spirit by providing a comprehensive array of emergency and long-term services, including: food, shelter, clothing, medical and dental care, recovery programs, transitional housing, legal assistance, education, counseling, and job training. it is their mission to help these precious people find their way home.

we can ease their burden by sharing the burden this Christmas.

please watch this short film on the Nativity Story as told by Kiera and then click the link below to give a gift, to ease the burden, to share a part of your portion with those in need.

thank you for your consideration and i pray that you have a very merry Christmas filled with love, joy, and peace.
